A single casting at this factory weighs up to 10 tonnes. Not a whole pump — one part.
The factory we work with has been casting wear-resistant iron since 1999. Five casting lines, more than 10 000 tonnes of wear parts a year and about 9 000 pumps.
Metal goes into the mould, the parts glow like a stove after heat treatment. Later they become impellers and liners that the slurry eats in a few months.
